Vacation Bible School Information The Vacation Bible School (VBS) Teachers’ Training will be held on Wednesday, May 19th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. Dan Sims will be conducting this training. All VBS teachers are strongly encouraged to attend this great training to help them prepare for teaching VBS.

The Education Department and VBS Coordinators would like the entire congregation to help increase our VBS attendance this year. We are asking each church family to identify two persons to attend VBS and forward those names, addresses, and phone numbers to Bro. Reed and Sis. Cannon starting on TODAY, May 9, 2010. The VBS Coordinators and other designated individuals will make phone contacts to your invited guest to encourage them to attend VBS. We also have invitation post cards we will be providing to everyone to send to their invited VBS friends and family. The VBS post cards will be available for distribution starting May 16, 2010 (check the various distribution points). Thanks, Sis. Cannon & Bro. Reed

Distant Members Program There are approximately thirty members of Simpson Street who live at least twenty or more miles away from the church and who try to attend both morning and evening services at the church. Their faithful attendance, at a price, is exemplary and encouraging. We thank God for them. To wipe out the travel expense of two round trips each Sunday this group of believers often eat their lunch in the old building and relax until time for evening service. The arrangement of attending both services with lunch and relaxation is a blessing to the church and them. All this is at no cost to the church in that Brother Gary O’Guin has coordinated this effort at no expense to the church. Yes, we call it the Distant Members Program. This program is exclusively for those who qualify according to mileage and willingness to bring their own food and other needed supplies. Please contact Brother O’Guin if you are interested and qualify.
